In Chomchon Fusinpaiboon’s PhD research, the auditorium of Chulalongkorn University (1938-1940) is a case for his analysis of how a “modern Thai” architecture was designed by the cooperation between a modern architect and a master builder. The finding shows evidence of the hybridisation between not only different styles but also different ways of conceptualising, developing, and designing architecture.
This part of research was later edited and translated in Thai for the publication of a book commemorating the conservation and refurbishment of the auditorium in 2016.
