Continuing from his research on HSH Prince Vodhyakara Varavarn’s half-timbered architecture as a modern Thai architecture during World War II, Chomchon Fusinpaiboon did a research study on the prince’s postwar endeavour to update Thai architecture. The study revealed that the architectural design and profession in Thailand during the Cold War not only embraced modernism more directly but also engaged in both domestic and international politics that shaped Thailand in that transitional and critical period.
